Your Claim Checklist – 3 Essentials

To maximise your chances of a successful refund or chargeback, make sure your case meets all three criteria below:

1. Purchase paid with Visa / Mastercard

The order was paid directly on the retailer’s checkout with your personal Visa or Mastercard (credit or debit). Payments via PayPal, Klarna, gift‑cards or business cards are not eligible.

2. Claim filed between Day 15 and Day 90

Wait at least 14 days to allow normal delivery, then submit your claim no later than 90 days after the transaction date.

3. Your purchase fits one of the following scenarios *

  • You did not receive the goods
  • You are charged the wrong amount, or charged twice by mistake
  • You are charged for a repeat payment after cancelling a subscription
  • The product is faulty
  • The item doesn’t correspond to its description
If your purchase cost you over $100 and up to $30,000, you are entitled to some your money back if:
  • The product or service is faulty
  • The company you bought the product from breaks their contract with you
  • The company you bought the product from does not deliver what they have promised.

How does Shopping Protection work?

We act as your post‑purchase advocate. Working within Visa® and Mastercard® dispute rules, our specialists:

  1. Review your case – We confirm the purchase was paid with your personal Visa/Mastercard and that at least 14 days, but no more than 90 days, have passed since the transaction.
  2. Collect evidence – You upload proof of payment, order confirmations, merchant chats and (where relevant) return receipts.
  3. Escalate in stages – We contact the merchant, send a registered notice if required, and prepare a chargeback file for your card issuer. For complex matters we can involve vetted lawyers or bailiffs in your country.
